1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, work email, company name, support requests, and communications. When you use the TraceLayer service, customers may submit telemetry including agent traces, model metadata, tool events, performance metrics, and configuration data.
We also collect limited technical information automatically, such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring pages, approximate region, pages viewed, and diagnostic events needed to operate and secure the service.
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve TraceLayer.
- Authenticate users, process requests, and provide customer support.
- Monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and protect the service.
- Communicate about product updates, security notices, and service changes.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
3. Agent telemetry and customer data
Customer telemetry remains customer data. We process it to provide the service and according to customer instructions. We do not sell customer telemetry, and we do not use private customer telemetry to train public or shared machine-learning models without explicit written permission.
Customers control which attributes they instrument and send. We recommend excluding secrets, credentials, payment card data, health information, and other sensitive content unless a written agreement specifically covers that processing.
4. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted transport, access controls, environment separation, service monitoring, and least-privilege practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data retention
We retain account information while an account is active and as needed for legitimate business, legal, security, and compliance purposes. Telemetry retention depends on the customer plan and configuration. Backup copies may persist for a limited period before deletion through normal rotation.
6. Service providers and disclosures
We may use vetted infrastructure, analytics, communications, and support providers to process information on our behalf. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, during a corporate transaction, or with your direction or consent.
7. International transfers
Information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information, and to object to certain processing. You may opt out of marketing email through the unsubscribe link in a message.
9. Children
TraceLayer is intended for business users and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services and legal requirements evolve. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the service or email.
